173L Mural monument for Michael and Martha BAKER, d. 1750 and d. 1796

-  A grey, slate, pointed backplate; a mourning widow in white marble leaning against an urn on a pedestal; below, cornice; M.I. (engraved, black) fills rectangular white tablet; flanked by yellow, 1/4 columns with Doric capitals; 2 corbels with rosette decoration; between, a curved apron with drapes; escutcheon and crossed ferns in grey slate; signed (lower left): 'CH. REGNART / Sculptr Cleaveland Strt'; (lower right): 'Fitzroy Square, / LONDON.'.

-  Michael Baker, Esq., d. 16 Jul 1750, aet 34; only son of Rev. Peter Baker, vicar of Mayfield; his wife, Martha, d. 19 Sep 1796, aet 79, buried Warbleton, daughter and sole heiress of Walter Roberts, Esq., of Stone House, Warbleton, and later wife of Rev. Henry Harcourt, rector of Warbleton and Crowhurst; no issue.
