157P Wall-mounted brass for James CRANSTON, d. 1790, and his family

-  East pier between nave and South aisle, South side.

-  Upper brass: 61(W) x 46(H); Lower brass: 61(W) x 49.5(H)~Very good.

-  M.I. (7 lines, engraved, black) fills a brass plate above another M.I. (5 lines, engraved, black) in upper 50% of a brass plate; Both brasses are set on a grey-green slab; signed (lower right): 'HOLMAN.LEWES'.

-  James Cranston, Esq., Captain, RN, d. 1 Aug 1790, aet 58; his wife, Catherine, d. 23 Dec 1808, aet 76; his daughter, Catharine Frances Cranston, d. 8 May 1785, aet 14.
